Sedation Dentistry
The Benefits Of Sedation
If the idea of visiting the dentist makes you nervous, you’ll find a caring, compassionate team, eager to help you, at Bonita Dental Care. We understand that many patients who visit us experience dental phobia. Whether you’ve experienced a past traumatic oral treatment elsewhere, or just dislike the clinical sounds and smells of a dental practice, we can help! Our certified sedation dentist and licensed anesthesiologist make it possible to provide a relaxing, positive dental visit for even our most anxious patients, with a variety of comfort sedation options. Your comfortable dental visit begins with a call to our friendly staff. Simply let us know of our concerns and you’ll find that every accommodation will be made to meet your needs and support you in your efforts to enjoy a healthier, brighter smile.
We can Help You Relax at the Dentist
Whatever your dental treatment, we can offer peace of mind with a variety of sedation techniques and combinations. For some patients, oral sedation is the perfect answer to help them relax. A dose, tailored to your needs, will help stop anxiety in its tracks, quickly. Oral sedation is sometimes used alone or in combination with nitrous oxide gas.
You might be a candidate for sedation if you:
- Suffer from dental anxiety
- Need lengthy, extensive treatments
- Are undergoing complex, potentially uncomfortable procedures
- Want to take care of all of your oral needs in a single visit
Our certified sedation dentist and licensed anesthesiologist make it possible to provide a relaxing, positive dental visit for even our most anxious patients.
Sedation Options
Nitrous Oxide
Also known as laughing gas, is administered through a soft nose mask. You’ll notice that your fears quickly float away, leaving you in a state of warm, serene comfort. Nitrous oxide gas allows you to have the dental treatment that you need, yet makes it seem as though time is passing quickly.
IV Sedation
IV sedation is the next level in sedation services, in which you can enjoy a twilight nap while your oral needs are taken care of. Rest assured that you’re in good hands, with a licensed anesthesiologist administering your medication and monitoring you at all times.
Please note that with oral and IV sedation, you’ll need to make prior arrangements for a friend or family member to take you home. However, no alternate plans need to be made with nitrous oxide gas. You’ll find the effects of sedation gas quickly dissipate within moments of completing your dental procedure.
